Our newest presenter Marc French lives in Drybrook, just down the road from the Radio Dean studio. Marc is a keen musician and plays guitar in three local bands, as well as recording his own material. In fact you may well hear some of his reggae-influenced tracks in shows to come.

Marc’s love of reggae dates from the late 1970s when he discovered artists such as the Mighty Diamonds, Culture and Burning Spear and he now has a collection of 4,000 reggae tunes – so there’s plenty to choose from!

Of course, a love of reggae doesn’t mean you can’t listen to other types of music and Marc is equally comfortable with Swedish death metal, American West Coast psychedelia or Chicago blues. However, there is something unique and timeless about reggae that always makes you want to come back to it.

Outside of music, Marc enjoys cycling in the Forest, spending time with the family, writing books and travelling – although he has sadly not yet made it to Kingston Jamaica, the spiritual home of reggae. Maybe one day...
